Moscow's message: Macron, you will disappear
French President Emmanuel Macron is not a threat and no one will miss him after his term ends, said Deputy President of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev.

"Russia has become, as I speak to you and for years to come, a threat to France and Europe, says Macron. Micron himself poses no big threat though. He’ll disappear forever no later than May 14, 2027. And he won’t be missed," he wrote on X.
French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday that Russia has become "a threat to France and Europe". The French president declared that "Russian aggression knows no borders" and urged European leaders to prepare for a future in which the United States may not provide the same support. He also called on the continent to strengthen its defense potential as the world order changes, saying Europe should be able to defend itself.
Speaking about the war in Ukraine, Macron wondered if there were "limits to Moscow's ambitions". He emphasized that "the threat from the east is returning".
"Who can believe today that Russia will stop in Ukraine?" asked Macron. He described the era of relative peace after the end of the Cold War as over, saying that Europe needs to take control of its own security, rather than relying on outside powers like the US, reports Business Standard.
Macron reiterated France's commitment to support Ukraine, stressing that "no path to peace" can involve abandoning Ukraine. He also subtly criticized US President Donald Trump's efforts to push Ukraine into peace talks with Russia.
