Patriot systems are on their way
The United States will increase production of missiles for the Patriot air defense system in 2027, while Ukraine is counting on increased deliveries of interceptor missiles to counter ballistic threats, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
Zelensky stressed that the need for these systems is a long-term one.
“The US will increase production of Patriot anti-ballistic missiles. We are counting on that. We will need them even if, God willing, the war ends, because we are counting on these systems to protect our country. That is why we will increase these quantities next year. I am absolutely certain of that,” Zelensky said.
The President of Ukraine also announced meetings in Norway and Canada aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
“I have meetings scheduled in Norway and Canada where we need to finalize several matters. As for our Ukrainian anti-ballistic missile system, we will hold important meetings on this soon. I am confident that we will move as quickly as possible toward achieving that goal,” Zelensky said.
Germany also involved
Zelensky added that Germany is also increasing production of missiles for the Patriot system.
“They have the necessary licenses, and we also have special agreements with them,” the Ukrainian president concluded.
