The match lasted more than three hours, the Frenchman was tough, and the Serbian was also facing health problems.

The opening set seemed like an easy walk for the seven-time champion - Djokovic controlled every segment of the game, while the Frenchman managed to catch the rhythm in only one game. There was no doubt about who was better in that part of the match.

But things got complicated in the second set. Djokovic created numerous opportunities - he had 11 break points and six chances to finish the set in his favor - but Müller, showing great fighting spirit, managed to survive every attack.

In the tie-break, Djokovic had a 5:2 lead, but the Frenchman turned it around and took advantage of the only chance he had. He saw off Novak's game at the net and leveled the score at 1:1 in sets with a passing shot.

The third set also brought concern - Novak asked for help from the medical team, which indicated a certain drop in energy. Soon he received reinforcements, after which his performance completely changed. This was followed by a streak of four games won, two breaks and the return of control in his hands.

The final set began with Djokovic's advantage, and Müller, visibly exhausted and under pressure, did not have the strength for another comeback. Although he was trying to get a break, Novak didn't leave him hope for a reversal.

The time frame was another factor - the match had to be finished before the so-called curfew at Wimbledon, which takes effect at 11 p.m. local time. The Serbian tennis player managed to finish the duel on time and thus avoid a potential interruption.

In the second round, the local tennis player Daniel Evans is waiting for him, who defeated Jay Clark without any major problems.
