The organizers of the ATP tournament in Beijing have announced the entry list for this year’s edition, and the lineup promises a true tennis spectacle.

The tournament begins on September 28, with as many as seven players from the ATP Top 10 expected to compete.

However, the name attracting the most attention is Novak Djokovic.

The Serbian star is expected to play in China again after 11 years, and his return to Beijing could be one of the highlights of this year’s Asian swing.

However, it should be noted that the list is still preliminary, meaning last-minute changes are possible.

The big question is Djokovic’s physical condition

Following his unexpected first-round loss at the US Open and concerns over his physical fitness, it is still not entirely certain whether Djokovic will actually compete in Beijing.

Novak himself spoke after his appearance in New York about not currently being sure how his body will respond in the coming weeks.

As a result, his status will be one of the key issues to monitor as preparations for the Asian swing get underway.

If he is fit, Djokovic will have the opportunity to return to Chinese soil after a lengthy absence and play in front of fans he has not had the chance to see for a long time.

Sinner also on the Entry List

Alongside Djokovic, the entry list also features Jannik Sinner, who missed the US Open due to a knee injury. However, the Italian is expected to be fully fit by the start of the Asian swing.

Alexander Zverev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Flavio Cobolli, Alex de Minaur and Daniil Medvedev are also expected to compete at the tournament.

With seven players from the Top 10 and Djokovic potentially returning to China after 11 years, Beijing could be one of the most interesting stops of the latter part of the tennis season.

However, the final entry list has yet to be confirmed, so it remains to be seen whether all the announced players will actually take to the court on September 28.
