The Djokovic–Sinner clash will be the second match on Centre Court, where play begins at 2:30 PM with the first semi-final between Britain’s Arthur Fery and Germany’s Alexander Zverev.

This time, however, the situation is different. Sinner is fully fit and has not dropped a set since the opening match of the tournament on his way to the semi-finals.

Djokovic, on the other hand, took a medical timeout during his quarter-final against Felix Auger-Aliassime due to a problem with his left calf and secured victory only after a grueling battle that ended just before 11:00 PM.

On paper, almost everything favors Sinner: he is 15 years younger, better rested, and holds a 6–5 edge in their head-to-head record.

However, Djokovic won their most recent Grand Slam meeting in the semi-finals of the Australian Open earlier this year, so writing him off would be a mistake.

An added source of motivation for the Serbian star is the history books. Djokovic is just two wins away from a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title, which would see him surpass Margaret Court and become the outright record holder for the most major singles titles.

“I’m still trying to prove to myself and to others that I can compete with the best players in the world and beat them on the biggest stage. I did that in Australia, and I’ve shown it here as well. I hope I can do it a few more times in London,” Djokovic said.

Despite being 39 years old, Djokovic once again demonstrated remarkable movement and physical endurance against Auger-Aliassime, even in the fifth set.

Throughout his career, he has repeatedly shown that he can withstand the toughest physical challenges, most notably at the 2012 Australian Open, when he played two marathon matches against Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal within the span of just two days.

Everything is set for another tennis spectacle, as experience and history go head-to-head with youth and the current dominant force on the ATP Tour.
