Ice wave rushes toward Serbia: Snow will fall for hours; Belgrade will also be covered VIDEO
Meteorologist Ivan Ristić appeared on Jutro on TV Prva, where he stated that a large amount of precipitation is coming from southern Serbia, and that the snow cover will increase in the evening hours.
“There is no longer a warm corner of Serbia. Today the weather will be variable, with rain, sleet, and snow; in the lower areas, precipitation will be at the rain-snow boundary. In Belgrade, we will probably see a few snowflakes in the next hour or so,” Ristić said.
He warned that a large amount of snow is coming from the south.
“Heavier snowfalls are arriving, lasting 4–5 hours, which will lead to the formation or increase of the snow cover,” he added.
Warming in the coming days
“In Belgrade tomorrow morning there is a chance to see a light snow cover, just enough to whitewash the rooftops. Tomorrow the snow will stop, and a gradual change in weather will begin — warmer weather is coming,” he emphasized.
Next week, temperatures are expected to rise by about 10 degrees.
“We will return to some autumn-like temperatures. This will be characteristic of the first ten days of December,” he added.
A new ice wave rushes toward Serbia
He also explained that after a short warming period, a new ice wave is expected.
“The first ten days will be noticeably warmer, the second ten days will be a transitional period with gradually falling temperatures, and in the third ten days we expect the first stronger incursion of northeast air, bringing icy days, snowfall, and hopefully we will enter the New Year in white,” he said.
