Strong earthquake in Serbia
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale was registered this morning at 07:42 in the Kladovo region, the Republic Seismological Institute announced.
The theoretical intensity at the epicenter was estimated at the VI degree of the Mercalli scale.
Earthquakes of this intensity can cause minor damage to buildings in the epicentral area, it was stated on the website of the Republic Seismological Institute.
On social networks, citizens commented that the earthquake was felt in Zaječar, Negotin, Donji Milanovac, Bor, as well as in other cities of eastern Serbia, and some say that it was felt even in Niš.
"I just felt it", "I was in bed when I felt the rocking", "There's no way I could get up for work, this just pushed me out of bed", "I felt an earthquake, the furniture in the house shook", are just some of the posts on social networks.
On the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, it is stated that the strength of the earthquake was stronger, as much as 4.3 degrees on the Richter scale.
On social networks, people report that the earthquake was also felt in Belgrade.
