Vučić visits Boljevac; Large crowd turns out to greet him: "Thank you for the magnificent welcome"

Residents told Vučić that he should visit more often.

“It used to be nice here? All right, we’ll make it nice again. What do you need? I’ve already heard about the road, and I’m ashamed that it hasn’t been done until now. I’ll talk to the people, and I’m sure they’ll get started on it right away. Let’s fix the main road first.”

He added that the school had been renovated, but that the area around the school had not and would also be taken care of.

“I wanted to say a few words to you. The most important thing is this road, which is in such poor condition that I don’t think there is a worse road anywhere in Serbia. Why is that? The road was built after World War II, and since then it has never been properly rebuilt — it has just been patched over and over again. It’s in terrible shape.

I’m proud of everything we have accomplished, and when you look at the Bor–Selište road, which you also need, you won’t say, ‘Thank you for doing that.’ I don’t blame the local authorities for failing to maintain it; they don’t have the money for it. That’s why the state will take over. It’s true that we should have visited more often.”

He stressed that he would resolve the problem if he receives the citizens’ trust in the elections.

“I know how difficult it is to run a country. Let each of us think about what we do and how we do it. Your village will flourish. It will look like Switzerland. Nothing is more important than the main road; once we get that done, everything will be different. Every house will be worth twice as much.”

He told one resident that he would renovate the school attended by his granddaughters.

“Let me thank you for the magnificent welcome. Thank you for your support and for coming so early to wait for me. Thank you very much.”
