Vučić visits the Royal Winery

Aleksandar Vučić visited the Royal Winery, where he discussed the history of Serbian winemaking, the development of the wine market and opportunities to increase exports.

During the visit, he was shown original bottles and other exhibits documenting the history of domestic winemaking. He described the exhibition as “remarkable.”

Speaking about the progress of this economic sector, Vučić said that Serbian winemaking had been developing very rapidly in recent years.

“Things have progressed incredibly quickly in our country,” Vučić said.

“A factory is more important”

Vučić told citizens that creating jobs and building factories should take priority over local sports facilities, as employment generates revenue for municipal budgets and enables further investment.

“A factory is more important. When you have a factory, there will be money for a stadium later,” Vučić said.

He explained that new jobs directly boost the local economy.

“People earn salaries, spend more in the town, more money stays in the municipality, and then you have more money for other things as well,” Vučić said.

He announced that particular attention would be paid to smaller factories in areas where attracting major foreign investors is difficult.

“We will focus on factories employing 100 or 150 people that can make a big difference to small towns,” Vučić said.

Vučić addresses citizens in Oplenac

At the beginning of his address, Vučić thanked the citizens for their warm welcome. He pointed out that the kindergarten in Oplenac has a long waiting list and that something needs to be done to address the issue.

“We can take care of that immediately. The question is whether we are willing to show greater concern for people. The most important things for me are to resolve the water supply issue, improve health centers and maternity hospitals, and ensure that citizens everywhere receive satisfactory services. That is what we will do.”

He added that no one should dictate to Serbia what kind of policy it should pursue, which is why the country had succeeded in not imposing sanctions on Russia.

“Their ideologues have started teaching us that Bishop Nikolaj and Aloysius Stepinac are the same, and they want to teach our children that. It is important that we stand up to this form of plenary-style totalitarianism, and all we need for that is a pen and paper. That is why we must focus on the 25th,” Vučić said.

The Karadjordjević–Obrenović divide; Vučić: “We have managed to unite them”

“Divisions exist everywhere, but today we are fortunate because we have managed to unite both sides. Both dynasties enjoy the greatest respect among the Serbian people,” Vučić emphasized.

“King Alexander wisely sought not only to unite the Balkan peoples but also to bring all Serbs together in a single state. You have to take other peoples into account, and it was not easy for him at all. It was also during that period, from the 1930s onward, that Ustaše and communist terror began. It is easy today to talk about what should or could have been done,” he said.

“He was a good king at a difficult time for us,” Vučić explained, adding that times have changed.

“I have always put my faith in the judgment of history, not that of my contemporaries,” he concluded.

Aleksandar Vučić in Oplenac: “It is always wonderful to come here”

“Today marks exactly 92 years since the assassination of King Alexander. He was killed in Marseille. He was ill and could sense what was happening, yet we, as a people, have always been unfair to him. We made things up and said all sorts of things,” Vučić recalled while visiting the Church of St. George, which houses the mausoleum of the Karađorđević dynasty.

“It is always wonderful to come here,” Vučić added.

“King Alexander was a great sufferer and martyr, not only because of the way he was killed but also because of those who took part in it. He understood how much pressure we were under from abroad, something ordinary people did not feel. When you speak out about such things, you are condemned not only to death in this world. He was a great king, far greater than we portray him to be,” Vučić said.
