The meeting will also be attended by Foreign Ministers Marko Djurić and Hakan Fidan.

“Today in Ankara, I have important talks with President Erdoğan on issues of mutual significance for our countries and peoples. I am confident that this visit will contribute to further strengthening Serbia–Turkey relations, as well as deepening economic cooperation, investments, and joint projects. We will also discuss regional issues, stability in the Balkans, and other challenges we face in complex global circumstances. We continue to build a partnership based on mutual respect, trust, and a clear vision of a future in which cooperation and dialogue remain the key principles of our policy,” Vučić emphasized earlier today on Instagram.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić was earlier today welcomed at Ankara airport by Turkey’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kadir.

Accompanying President Vučić in the delegation are Defense Minister Bratislav Gašić, Minister without Portfolio responsible for Reconciliation, Regional Cooperation, and Social Stability Usame Zukorlić, Economy Minister Adrijana Mesarović, and Assistant Minister of Defense Nenad Radomirović.

Economic Cooperation

Bilateral relations between the two countries have shown an upward trend in economic cooperation. Beyond the economy, collaboration extends across nearly all areas of mutual interest, including energy, infrastructure, tourism, culture, and education. Trade between Serbia and Turkey in 2025 amounted to nearly 3.5 billion USD, according to the latest data. Of this, Serbia’s exports to Turkey were 1.2 billion USD, with the remainder being imports from Turkey.

Key Serbian exports include copper, tires, and food products. In October 2017, the High Council for Cooperation between Serbia and Turkey was established, chaired by the presidents of both countries and attended by relevant ministers from both governments. To date, four meetings of the High Council have been held, the most recent in Belgrade in October 2024 during a visit by the Turkish president to Serbia.

During that meeting, 11 bilateral international agreements were signed. Investments by Turkish companies in Serbia have intensified over the past few years, with prospects for further growth, employing thousands of people in Serbia. Since 2017, Vučić and Erdoğan have met 14 times, including visits and meetings on the sidelines of international gatherings. This marks President Vučić’s eighth visit to Turkey since 2017, while President Erdoğan has visited Serbia three times, the latest being in 2024.

Following Erdoğan, a series of important meetings

After Ankara, President Vučić will travel to Germany.

He announced that during his stay in Munich, he will meet with representatives of the European Union, China’s foreign minister, as well as numerous companies and international leaders.

“On Friday and Saturday we will be in Munich. I will be there and will have meetings with the highest representatives of the European Union and the Chinese foreign minister, with many companies, but also with many others,” Vučić said.

Upon returning to Belgrade, Vučić will host Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on February 15. The visit is expected to further strengthen friendly relations between the two countries and open new opportunities for cooperation.

Immediately after the meeting with the Azerbaijani president, he will travel to India to participate in an international summit on artificial intelligence and technological cooperation. The forum in New Delhi, attended by leaders including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Emmanuel Macron, and Pedro Sánchez, represents a strategic step in positioning Serbia as a reliable partner in the digital and innovation sector.

This series of international visits and meetings demonstrates Serbia’s commitment to strengthening its political, economic, and technological ties with key partners worldwide.
