Vučić visited Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent; he is the first foreign official to tour the museum
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, together with the Serbian delegation, visited the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent today.
President Vučić was guided on the tour by Rustam Jabarov, Deputy Director of the center.
The Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is an institution under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, located within the Hazrat Imam estate complex.
Construction of the complex was initiated based on a decision by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017, and the foundation was laid in 2018.
The center is still under construction, but most of it has been completed. The Center for Islamic Civilization is the largest cultural, scientific, and educational complex in Uzbekistan, encompassing a museum, research institute, libraries, international partner organizations, scientific laboratories, centers for traditional crafts, and educational departments.
The center’s activities focus on a comprehensive study of Uzbekistan’s history from ancient times to the modern period, with an emphasis on the region’s contribution to world civilization in science, culture, and spiritual heritage.
Special attention is given to the scientific legacy of Uzbek scholars, the study of their works, as well as contemporary academic research and new discoveries.
The museum is not yet open to the public, and President Vučić is the first foreign official to visit it.
