Vučić said that under Mirziyoyev’s leadership, Uzbekistan had reached unprecedented heights.

“We admire your achievements and want to work and cooperate with your beautiful country,” Vučić said.

He also said that he learns a great deal from Mirziyoyev every time they meet.

“Dear friend, as you can see, I have no problem saying this publicly, and I believe that we can further strengthen our cooperation in all areas of social life. In Serbia, we follow with great enthusiasm the results Uzbekistan has achieved under your leadership. They are simply unprecedented. We admire them and want to work together; we want to cooperate with your beautiful country,” Vučić said.

He expressed hope that the two countries would continue to develop their strong relations.

“We have identified several areas of importance, and I am very pleased about that. First and foremost, we should sign a free trade agreement as soon as possible, make a decision as soon as possible on establishing a direct Belgrade–Tashkent air route, and develop industrial cooperation with a focus on the textile sector, as well as agriculture, advanced technologies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and cooperation in transport connectivity, logistics and the defense industry,” Vučić said.

He stressed that all of these areas are of exceptional importance to Serbia and expressed confidence that the two countries could achieve significantly better results in all other areas as well.

“And I am pleased that our ministers are very satisfied with the results of the talks they have had with their Uzbek counterparts. I am very happy that you are our guest, dear Shavkat, esteemed President Mirziyoyev. I hope you feel at home here in Serbia—I would very much like that to be the case. I will never forget the hospitality you showed us in Tashkent and Samarkand.

It is simply difficult to reciprocate such hospitality, but we Serbs also try to be good hosts. If we cannot compare with you, then at least we can try to be a little better than the rest of Europe,” Vučić told President Mirziyoyev.
