Miloš Pavlović, a student at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Belgrade, said earlier that after the meeting with Vučić, he would announce the final decision on whether he would go on a previously announced hunger strike.

At the Presidency of Serbia, Vučić first said that he would talk to the students who want to study, in order to hear what they have to say. He asked them to tell him what their plans were because he was worried about their announcement of a hunger strike.

"Don't be mad at us, we're just asking you to continue our education, our faculties are blocked, they destroyed a year that is irreparable," said Pavlović.

He said that students who want to study are losing in the race with their colleagues in the region and the world, saying that they have tried everything, including writing criminal reports in order to return to classes. "We don't know what to do anymore, we want knowledge to be in focus," said Pavlović.

According to his words, they were encouraged to take the last step, which is a hunger strike.

Another student described unpleasant scenes to President Vučić when he was not even allowed to enter his faculty in Novi Sad. "In the end, they surrounded me, I tried to find a compromise in order to enter, but they told me that the Plenum voted that he was on the black list and that he could not enter," he said.

He also added that he asked what that plenum was, and as he stated, they told him that it was a decision-making body.

The third student who addressed President Vučić is a student of the Faculty of Political Sciences, who narrated almost identical scenes - that he and his colleagues who wanted to study were not allowed to enter the faculty building.

He said that the FPN plenum also told him that he was voted an undesirable person at the university. "This has been happening to us for three months, since we came to Pionirski Park," he said and reminded that students who want to study have never attacked anyone, while they are constantly being attacked.

"We just want to study, no one has the right to forbid us to go to university. We have nothing against students who want to engage in politics, go to the elections, we just want to go back to studying," said the FPN student.

They cited examples of attacks on them, smearing of their houses with bloody fists, as well as targeting them in the media.

Vučić: We will have to change

Vučić thanked them and then said "that we will have to change ourselves".

It will not, as he said, be an easy and simple process, pointed out Vučić, stating that a huge amount of money is given to faculties and universities.

We should give up the anarcholiberal ideas that someone takes what they want from everyone.

I'm sorry that you had to go through all that, but you are great guys, you can see how much people respect you."

According to him, the whole system will have to be changed because it is not producing results. As an example, he took investments in the Red Star basketball club and investment in Buducnost, which defeated Red Star.

But they lost, stated Vučić, who said that 54 billion dinars were allocated to universities, which is 500 million euros given, but which did not produce any results.

As he said, we will have to pay more attention to private faculties.

"It's too late now for regrets, and no one will escape responsibility. People are slowly starting to realize that their jobs have been destroyed, that everything has been destroyed and that they can't live a normal life," said Vučić.

Addressing students who want to study, Vučić said that the blockaders also planned to organize a group hunger strike, so he is asking them not to do that.

"We just want to study, no one has the right to forbid us to go to university. We have nothing against students who want to engage in politics, go to the elections, we just want to go back to studying," said the FPN student.

The students who want to study thanked the President of Serbia and said that they would decide on a hunger strike after talking with their colleagues from Pioneer Park.

Vučić, however, told them to call their parents and ask them what they thought about the hunger strike, because, as he said, he believed that their parents would understand what he wanted to say.
