Brnabić: Who from Belgrade University is preparing a military coup, coup d'état and civil war in Serbia?

President of the Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, stated at a press conference that the recordings released last night showed that the representatives of various political parties, non-governmental organizations and those who are hiding behind the student plenums together clearly, directly and unequivocally planned a coup d'état and violence as a prelude to civil war, as well as the assassination of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and called on the competent authorities to react urgently.

"As the President of the Assembly of Serbia, I felt the need to speak out at least briefly after the recordings that were seen by the entire public, from meetings in which youths from different parties, members of NGOs, even some professors participated. They all planned a coup d'état together, violence as a prelude to civil war and the murder of President Vučić. What was the most shocking, the most terrible, and what we saw as the behavior of rector Djokić, the expanded collegium, was the most shocking, at least for me, was the role of Belgrade University. Marija Vasić, a professor who participated in such a meeting, never warned the students that what they were doing was brutal violence, that it was planning a military coup," said Brnabić, quoting part of yesterday's video.

She pointed out that it was heard on the recording that the University of Belgrade said that the army union contacted them and that the army would be ready and would come at their call in case of action.

"Marija Vasić, a professor who participated in such a meeting, never warned the students that what they were doing was brutal violence, that it was planning a coup d'état. That it was planning a military coup, that it would result in massive bloodshed. They said that they should carry sticks, hammers and manipulate all the citizens who gather at that meeting, and their goal is a military coup and a coup d'état. Professor Marija Vasić, who does not admonish the students but participates in planning a coup, says: Do we have information that BU is in contact with the Army union? Mila Pajić: No, I haven't that information, and they said that the Army union contacted them in case of action," she said and added:

"So, BU said that the army union has come forward and that the army will be ready and will come at their call in case of action."

Then she asked:

"My question today is, professors, deans, rectors' colleges, extended rectors' colleges and Rector Djokić, who on behalf of BU participated in the attempted military coup, causing a coup d'état, the civil war in Serbia and the assassination of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić? Who from BU participated in the kidnapping and who confirmed to Marija Vasić that they are in contact with the unions within the Army, that they negotiate as BU and that BU guarantees that the army will take to the streets and react? Rector Djokić and the extended rector's collegium, they should present the answer to these questions immediately. Not this afternoon, not tonight, but immediately. Who, as Marija Vasić says, will be ready and will come to the BU in case of action. Is that why you formed an expert working group that, in preparation for March 15, has not only been fulfilled, but impossible? I am scandalized that BU did not speak up last night after the public could hear Marija Vasić. The authenticity was confirmed by PSG," said Brnabić.

About the closing of the National Assembly

"There is a legal basis and I think it is only normal, natural and reasonable that we made a decision, in order to try to reduce security risks, to close the assembly. So that no one would try to cause incidents in the assembly itself. If that happened, I am sure that the public would ask why it was left open. No one can enter the Assembly of Serbia, not even me as the Speaker of the National Assembly. This is quite normal in order to call for the calming of tensions," she said.

About students who want to study

When asked about the tractors at Pionirski Park, Brnabić says:

"Regarding the tractors, I saw that students who want to learn have made a brave but worrying decision to stay in Pioneer Park. They are the only ones who have a legitimate, legally registered assembly. All rights are denied to them. Is it the role of deans, rectors and professors to educate people or to organize a military coup. The tractors have come, these rather modest ones, brought by farmers, to make their contribution to protect young people who want to learn. I see no problem in that. Every night someone attacks them. Someone came and felt the need to protect them. I think it will serve to prevent incidents," she said.

"I didn't have a chance to talk to Vucevic this morning. I believe with all my heart in the Serbian Armed Forces. I believe in their patriotism and statecraft. This is a question for the University of Belgrade. Where did they get the right to contact the Serbian Armed Forces? Who is preparing a coup d'état and civil war in Serbia. The prosecutor's office and all competent authorities will respond, but I want to hear who from the state university is preparing a military coup in Serbia. Marija Vasić, a professor, says that the army union has come forward and will be ready. The army will come out at the call of the University. Rector Djokić, you owe a lot of answers to the questions of the public of this country," she asked.
