Vučić: Belgrade finally gets a metro; Commercial contract to be signed by December 15

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, announced that the contract for the construction of the first metro line will be signed by December 15, emphasizing that citizens could have the first metro line within two and a half to three years.

"We will sign the final commercial contract for the construction of the first metro line with the French company Alstom by December 15, so within the next month. We will either complete this project or move into finalization, so that in two and a half years we will have the first metro line—whether it takes two and a half or three years, it doesn’t really matter, but Belgrade will finally get a metro," Vučić said after a working dinner with the President of France.

He emphasized that he spoke with Macron for three hours.

"I have to be happy and satisfied with the talks. It is a great honor for Serbia… I fought for the interests of our country. I believe we will have a sincere ally in France," he added.
