Vucic takes part in Bled Forum

Vucic suggested to Cerar the holding of another joint session of the two governments and invited him to visit Serbia.

During the working lunch organized by Cerar in the Villa Bled, he and Vucic "discussed economic reforms in Serbia, the situation in the region, the migrant crisis and Slovenian investments in Serbia."

Vucic invited Slovenian companies to invest "in as large a number as possible" - not only to take advantage of good business conditions, but also "to transfer Slovenian work habits onto Serbian workers" - the Serbian Government Office for Media Relations said in a statement.

Cerar welcomed Vucic and stressed it was "important that Serbia is a factor of stability in the region, and due to the stable political situation in the country, represents a safe place for Slovenian investors."

Croatian agency Hina reports that Cerar also met with European Council President Donald Tusk with the migrant crisis as the main topic, and that Vucic told reporters that Serbia will continue treat migrants and refugees "as people in distress" regardless of its financial difficulties.

The same agency quoted the Serbian prime minister as saying he was "appalled by some voices from the opposition" who said his government "should be dealing with other issues, and expel migrants."

Vucic also said he "expects Germany to support a faster inclusion of Serbia into the EU and provide support for the reforms" which by his assessment could by 2017 bring Serbia GDP growth of between 2.5 and three percent.

Vucic is today participating in the Bled Strategic Forum.

Beside Cerar and Tusk, other participants include Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bethel, President of Slovenia Borut Pahor, OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, representative of the UN Secretary General Christian Friis Bach, and others.

A Serbian government statement added that Vucic will hold bilateral meetings with Slovakia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajcak and Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Jankovic.
