Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Serbian citizens to leave Iran
Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on all Serbian citizens currently in Iran to leave the country, and those planning to travel there to cancel their trips, due to deteriorating security situation and increased risk to personal safety in the Islamic Republic.
Media outlets reported yesterday that the United States could launch a military operation against Iran within 24 hours, while U.S. President Donald Trump warned that he is seriously considering the use of force against Iran, due to the violent suppression of protests that began in the country on December 28 last year, triggered by the fall in the national currency’s value and the severe economic situation.
Government ministries and embassies around the world have urged their citizens to leave Iran and to refrain from traveling to the country.
Unrest and demonstrations in Iran continued today as well, and an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council has been scheduled for this evening. It will be held at the request of the United States, a source from the Somali mission to the UN, which currently holds the presidency of the Security Council, told RIA Novosti.
