In their latest military intelligence report on the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine, it is stated that "dragon's teeth" are also being built in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, in order to prevent a possible penetration of the Ukrainians.
"They have two factories for the production of concrete pyramidal anti-tank structures, known as dragon's teeth. The dragon's teeth were probably installed between Mariupol and the Nikolske village, as well as from the north of Mariupol to the village of Staryi Krym," the British Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
During the Second World War, the term "dragon's teeth" denoted regular pyramidal structures, which were used to prevent the advance of armies. British intelligence says Mariupol is part of the Russian land bridge from Russia to Crimea, a key logistical line of communication.
The intelligence officers in the report state that the dragon's teeth were additionally sent to prepare defenses in occupied Kherson and Zaporizhzhia and that Russia is strengthening the defense lines in the occupied areas. The owner of the Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is also mentioned, who on October 19 requested the construction of a fortified "Wagner Line of Defense" in the Russian-occupied Lugansk region.
The British ministry points out that the construction of the dragon's teeth indicates that Russia is making great efforts to prepare defenses deep in the territory behind its front line. They say this is likely to prevent any Ukrainian advance in the event of a breakthrough.
