Zoran Zaev's statement about his country's "neutrality" if Kosovo's UNESCO bid again comes up for a vote, has caused dissatisfaction of the Albanian community.

Coordinator of the DUI party's parliament group Ejup Alimi has condemned the statement, saying that "whoever speaks about opposing Kosovo, even if it is about its endeavors to join international organizations like UNESCO, speaks against all Albanians," Koha Ditore is reporting.

He stressed that the decisions made by the Macedonian government are not decisions of one person or one party, but "of the entire political spectrum."

Political analyst Valon Bela thinks that Zaev cannot neglect the positions of Albanian parties in Macedonia, without whom he would still be in opposition.

The Pristina-based Albanian language daily noted in its report that Pristina in 2015 failed to secure Kosovo's membership in UNESCO.
