Croatian police arrest suspects in latest Zagreb blast

Croatian police have arrested several persons suspected of planting an explosive device in downtown Zagreb on Wednesday morning.


According to, the suspects were recorded by security cameras while they were leaving the scene in a Volkswagen Golf.

The investigation is still underway, the news outlet reports.

Nobody was injured when the device went off around 2:30 CET on Wednesday and the blast only caused minor material damage.

The Zagreb police have ruled out a possibility that it was a powerful pyrotechnical device that went off and stressed that it was an improvised low-intensity explosive device.

This was the third explosion in Zagreb in the last 20 days. A bomb exploded on railway tracks on January 9 and another went off at a bus stop on January 11.
