Russian, Serbian special units mull joint exercise
Delegations of the Serbian and Russian armed forces have discussed possibilities for holding a joint exercise of the two countries' special forces.
Source: TanjugThe delegation of the Russian Armed Forces visited the Serbian Armed Forces Special Brigade in Pančevo, near Belgrade, on Wednesday.
Special Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Jelesije Radivojević welcomed the guests at the Rastko Nemanjić barracks, the Serbian Armed Forces said in a statement on their website.
"The two delegations discussed possibilities for holding a joint exercise of the special forces of the Russian and Serbian armed forces as well as for improving bilateral military cooperation," the statement said.
The Russian delegation, led by Col. Dmitry Valeryevich Gluzhenko, also attended a demonstration showcasing some of the Brigade's capabilities, and will continue its visit on Thursday with a tour of the 63rd Parachute Battalion of the Special Brigade in Niš, southern Serbia.
