It was clear from the start what kind of match we would watch. Zverev served brilliantly and during most of the first set, he was on more than 90 percent of the points won when he scored the first serve.

The players had a hard time getting a break opportunity, which did not exist until the result of 5: 4, when Djokovic had the first opportunity, which was also a set point.

He didn't use it, and then Zverev didn't use his two, so the set went to a tie-break. The German was a better tennis player then and used the first set point after exactly one hour of play.

The same was transferred to the other set. Zverev played incredibly, supported by great service, and in the absence of double service errors characteristic of him. On the other side of the net, Djokovic was struggling. While the German would get his service games without losing a point, the Serbian ace earned them the hard way.

However, the opportunity arose with the result 4: 4 and Djokovic grabbed it.

Djokovic missed four set points and used only the fifth to break even. That was not possible in the deciding set. The torture continued on Djokovic's service, while Zverev took his own. As a result, the German made a break in the fourth game of the third set. Decisive game, after which Djokovic did not return, although he had a chance at 2: 4, but he missed it.

Zverev will play in the final against Daniil Medvedev, who defeated Casper Ruud. Russian tennis player played his semi final at 2 p.m. and will surely be more relaxed before the finals.

"It was a fantastic match, I think we've played five times this year and every single time it was a great battle and we played for a very long time," said Zverev.

“Of course we want to win against each other, but there is that respect and appreciation for each other that is more important than winning or losing. That's something that I always had with Sascha. I really appreciate that,” Djokovic said. “I wish him all the best. He's a great guy, fantastic tennis player, I'm sure soon to be a Grand Slam champion.”

“It was a great season, no doubt. I did not play many tournaments, but still managed to end the year at No. 1 for the seventh time, broke records for the year-end No. 1, historic No. 1, won three out of four Slams,” Djokovic said. “The year was phenomenal. Maybe could have done better in some other ATP events. But all in all really good ending of the season as well with a title in Paris and semi-finals here”, Djokovic concluded.
