They did not even expect and it wasn't a goal. The goal was to make U.S. lose face by openly opposing something what calls for non-violence. That goal was perfectly achieved.
Think about preparing all the ammo to defend the potential Russian veto in UNSC against Kosovo UN membership. Every veto and costs some face loss - and the only way you can counter is to make the opponent to lose even more face. That worked now perfectly.
81 countries have already recognized Kosovo, thanks also to Serbia which decided to have a politician instead of a diplomat for the position of Foreign Minister.

I have always advocated that there should be concessions on both ends and have all live in peace. But every time I say that, I keep getting slammed either by you or Peggy (and others). They did not even expect and it wasn't a goal. The goal was to make U.S. lose face by openly opposing something what calls for non-violence. That goal was perfectly achieved.
Think about preparing all the ammo to defend the potential Russian veto in UNSC against Kosovo UN membership. Every veto and costs some face loss - and the only way you can counter is to make the opponent to lose even more face. That worked now perfectly.
