Many people here say Mladic protected Serbs during the war. Maybe so. They complain that many Bosniak and Croat atrocities took place that haven't been punished like Mladic has. Maybe so. And if so, that's unfair, for sure. But the allegation remains that Gen. Mladic ordered a massachre of 8,000 innocent men and young boys. That's not self-defence, that's genocide. 8,000 wives, 8,000 mothers, 8,000 brothers want to see justice done for their lost loved ones. Surely the verity of these allegations needs to be determined in court? And if they are true, surely Gen. Mladic will have to pay for this crime with imprisonment? If you don't believe the allegations, let them be answered in court. If you accept this crime happened but don't think Gen. Mladic deserves to be punished, you are a sociopath.

Meeting in Banja Luka for support to our general Ratko Mladic, proved that Serbian people from Republic of Srpska are decent, normal and honorable people! No incidents,no broken glasses on shops!Only broken hearts of our suffered people, only tears in the eyes of mothers who lost their children,husbands,brothers,fathers..That tears you can not buy!
Those incidents in protests in Belgrade are paid and has been paid up!that is very easy to organize!don't be naive.
For one of the previous comment here,we are already part of the world, aren't we?We are regular part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proved by the Dayton agreement, which is already part of the world!isn't that a fact?
We do have full right to show our opinion in public in decent way,and to support our fighters from regular military structure!Ratko Mladic is the living legend who was the commandant of regular military of Republic of Srpska, who was protecting our suffering people from third attempt of genocide and completely destroying of Serbian nationality.
If general Mladic is war criminal, what is Alija Izetbegovic? If you don't know,he brought the mujahedins from al qaida,to fight against all non christian people during the war in Bosnia! What they did here, and who is responsible for that??
What is Naser Oric??If you don't know I'll tell you.Naser Oric has been war commandant of Bosnian Muslims!Things that he did to Serbs in war,are really sick! Before Serbian army moved to Srebrenica,Naser Oric killed all Serbians all around the Srebrenica. All Serbian villages was burned and destroyed, women and kids and old people and sick people has been killed brutally!Would not like to mention how did they did that!
Who is responsible for this crimes! For people from all Europe one question: do you think about feelings of survived mothers and kids from these villages? What about them?and all other Serbian victims?what about their feeling of justice? What happened in Kravice,Skelani,Bratunac?
What happened in Srebrenica is not correct, but when you think and try to put yourself in this kind of situation, that was kind of revenge for Naser Oric acts!He is responsible for what happened in Srebrenica!
Also,what is Franjo Tudjman,Janko Bobetko,Gojko Susak,Ante Gotovina,Ljubo Cesis Rojs,all croatian politician and military leaders?

Most important thing is that now, people from Banja Luka and Republic of Srpska are united in our national interest!
We will always support General Ratko Mladic, cause he protected us with his knowledge of war,and with his full and brave heart!People from Serbia think they have been hostages of Ratko Mladic!?Ratko Mladic was their hostage for all this time! From the first moment,he gave himself in their defence as well, but they don't realize that fact!
However we people from Republic of Srpska are proud what kind of army we had to protect us,small but brave! And we are proud with our general Ratko Mladic!

think of it like this:with nationalism you can be a proud and independent but isolated country.if you play by the rules, even if they are not always fair, you can be a part of the world!military and politics destroyed a country called jugoslavia. mladic, if guilty or not used his power in the wrong way. move on serbia! the future waits for you!

It is no credit to them that they associate themselves with war-crimes.

Same could be said for Winston Churchill and the bombings of Dresden, Hamburg and Pforzheim. He's looked upon in Britain as a Hero and In Germany as a War Criminal, He's probably both. The Same applies to Mladic, saved thousands in Operation Koridor, and Killed Thousands in Srebrenica.

Unfortunate we Serbs have a long tradition of betraying our heroes then putting up statues 50 years down the track.

General Ratko Mladic thank you for looking after your people and you will be remembered in lore and songs for ever which is not the case of Tadic, Suntanovic or Nikolic.

MikeC,

I could not have said it better myself. Thanks to brave Serbs like General Mladic a third extinction attempt of Serbs in the 20th century was prevented. Oh how Croats, Bosniaks, and Albanians had wished for that to happen. However, I hope that once and for all they have realized that Serbs will fight and defend themselves and that horrific events in WWI and WWII will not happen again. I am sure General Mladic would have saved the poor souls who were butchered by people who hate Serbs if he could have. We just have to be exposed to the repeating lies for a while and unfortunately B92 seems quite eager to accommodate that.

But it's worth remembering that you're talking Banja Luka here, not Belgrade. I like Banja Luka - 7 women to every bloke and all that - but you do have to reset your watch to about 1850 on arrival.
