combined with late effects of state TV propaganda, (Lowduke, 1 November 2010 21:27)

You would be surprised to know that with all the state propogranda under Milosevic, people in Belgrade were very well aware of what happened in the Yugoslav civil war.

It is true that propoganda worked much better for Milosevic in the smaller towns and villages but this is also limited as satellite made communication possible across Europe. Yugoslavia was never isolated from Europe like Bulgaria or Romania were during the Communinst era in those countries.

Your typical North American expecially is being bombarded with propoganda from CNN, Fox news and the rest. Their knowledge around the world is generally low and the American government uses this to their advantage.

For example, the mass civilian deaths in Afghanistan get little of no air time in the United States.

The death of over 1000 Yugoslav civilians from the NATO air campaign in Europe was never directly revealed in the American media.

The bombing of Cambodia during the Vietnam war in 1960-1974 was not only hidden from the American people, but the Senate and Congress as well.

The bombing of IRAQ was based on false assertions that Iraq had acquired weapons of mass destruction; false again but the media supported it.

" EU was never the aspiration of Serbs. The majority still think EU is guilty for the destruction of Yugoslavia and that almost all EU NATO members are guilty for the bombardments, etc. etc."

This might be the case, but that's a problem of perception, combined with late effects of state TV propaganda, the refusal to admit the own guilt for the balkan wars and the general believe in big conspiracy theories ("the whole evil world guided by THE WEST is against the good Serbs") and overestimation of their own importance. And, as in many similar cases, it's always easy to blame the others.

His attitude might be 'stable' whatever that means but Serbia is very unstable with Tadic's unstable policies which cater for everyone but Serb interests...

Dear Ambasador. You and many other colleagues like you in the EU have no clue what the aspiration of Serbs. At least your former Minister knew that. Please have a look and analyse carefully the recent polls and you will understand the Serbian aspriations. EU was never the aspiration of Serbs. The majority still think EU is guilty for the destruction of Yugoslavia and that almost all EU NATO members are guilty for the bombardments, etc. etc.
