NATO will take at least 7-10 years for Serbia, if you start now by recognizing Kosova.
(Alban, 8 April 2009 21:37)

That "-" between "7" and "10" was a typo, right? Because maybe in 710 years will Serbs forgive NATO. Or maybe not. I can just reiterate: Serbia can't live without NATO like a fish can't live without a bicycle. EU is almost the same story except the visa-free travel and Schengen ultimately. Switzerland is in Schengen Zone now, but not in EU. Vojvodina is Serbia and Transylvania is Romania. But a good part of Vojvodina is inhabited by Hungarians and most of cities in Transilvania are even more Hungarian. With Schengen in force the nationalists, hot-heads and crazy people like László Toroczkai or Gheorghe Funar can close the shop and look for an other job. Ultimately there is a chance, in all these areas we will even have the same currency within 10 years. Case closed. No borders of Serbia or Romania will be moved because there will be no borders. "Great Serbia", "Nagymagyarország" and "Romania Mare" ultimately dead and buried.

But we need the dictate and "we-know-better-everything-than-you" people from Bruxelles and "defending" Great Serbia / Nagymagyarország in Afghanistan like the said fish the bicycle.

>> " Šutanovac said that Serbia was not happy about having a peacekeeping mission on its territory, but was aware that it was, first and foremost, a peace mission, under KFOR auspices, for which Serbia was thankful to Slovenia also, which has a contingent of 380 soldiers guaranteeing security for Albanians and Serbs living in Kosovo. "

So this is how Serbia wants to spin the reality and get in NATO? Pretty funny, but whatever makes his people sleep better at night. Those 'peacekeepers' are training Kosova's own army as well! NATO will take at least 7-10 years for Serbia, if you start now by recognizing Kosova.

Mircea (#1),

The only reason why the EU is financing all kinds of infrastructure projects is to make sure that the German and French trucks can bring German and French products to the consumer markets throughout the EU and beyond (and to make sure that NATO can move around quickly). Once the roads have been paid for the specific countries will pay for the maintenance, which will add up a lot over the years (of course others can use them for personal reasons, which is of course a positive thing). Anyway, you are a broken old record playing the same old boring song day after day.

Another Canadian Serb (#2),

You have said it all.

Mircea,
are you not educated in the history of the former Yugoslav Republics.

Slovenia is a success today, only because Slovenia walked away from Yugoslavia, leaving Serbia holding all of the garbage, debt and problems.

On top of this, Serbia has economic sanctions and was bombed to pieces.

And here you are today, stating how the Serbs should be more like the Slovenians.

I don't know what else to say to you.

Except that, Serbia won the last soccer game against Romania.

Serbia should follow the example of Slovenia. Slovenia is in the EU, it is part of the Schengen Area and is a member of the Eurozone.

I think all the former Yugoslav republics should follow the example of Slovenia.
