When I was a child, I was afraid of Russia because I grew up post WWII in the US and they were our true enemy. Then in my early 20's I use to question the things our govt said about Russia and its propaganda. How do I know that what I am hearing is not just propaganda. It was not until I came to the balkans and was able to see things first hand and listen to what Russia was saying, that I realized I was right as a child.

as things stand now, given that the Vatican doesn´t "recognise", the spanish, the greek and slovak sovereigns do not recognise too, and now even the russian duma, it is quite clear a signal for the ICJ.

but, of course, even that doesn´t count for our dear k-albanian friends...

hell, it will be even more frustrating for them when they realize how stuck they are.

as for the Russians: thanks you are showing more belief in the rule of law than the socalled "renewed" US of A.

all in all, time works for Serbia, and that is good.

very good.

let´s just see what future brings, my dear friends...

Congratulations to the Hague for being an essential step in telling the world the message that evil, disgusting murderous behaviour will not be ignored and the the revolting people who think that they can get away with it will be picked on and made to answer for it.

Remember that there was no effective law to stop the killing and torture - the Hague was set up because all the countries of the region were in a complete mess.

The Hague was very necessary.

This political declaration of the Duma shows that Serbia enjoys Russian support not only in Kremlin cabinets but countrywide. Inside Russia such a statement is a good PR campaign cause many Russians remember well how the West destroyed former Yugoslavia and the USSR.

On the other hand our opponents should know how decisive we in everything concerning Serbia. The statement also is aimed to demoralize the anti-Serbian Tribunal. They are told to pack the bags and not even to hope for any forms to prolong their job.

"As long as a solution which both sides will find as satisfactory is not reached and a corresponding legal decision adopted, Kosovo and Metohija will continue to be an integral part of Serbia," the lower house of the Russian parliament stated.

What else can you expect? One thing is for certain. It has nothing to do with international law put purely Serbo-Russian interest. All Albanians have braced themseves for that stance and their prosperity is not based on Russian support.

By the way. Nürnberg Nazi tribunal finished it's job long ago, now it's every country's individual task to find the few nazi pigs still alive and lock them up.

The level of success is mixed, but so is the level of success battling common crime. Nürnberg did pack and go, so should Hague, no double standards.

And if EULEX is below certain expectations, than Serbs should first address countries in EU who tend to listen to their complains: Spain, Romania, Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia. Next step to address UN and let them hear the voice loudly.

Ultimately, EULEX is nothing, but a pathetic face-saving attempt. Make them feel, that face won't be "saved", unless certain conditions are met.

I don't see any role Hague can play here. It's obsolete.

Again it is Russia who is upholding international law while the US, Germany, UK and France are trying to destroy it.
I have had enough of their 'European Values' that they preach of. They can stick their 'European Values' you know where.
As for the Hague, it is high time to close that anti-Serb show trial and thank you Russia, who will do just that. You are showing more patriotism and respect for Serbia than our own president. What do you expect from a guy who was engineered into power by Munter.

Hey I give you a hint: don't close ICTY you might need to trial to organ harvesters thing... or perhaps you know that is just a fairy tale??? :(

Ben,

We (and you) need ICTY as much as a fish needs the bicycle.
The reasons ICTY was created are (almost) non-existing today. All ex-YU countries are knocking at the door of EU and one of them is firmly in EU.

It is fair to assume, each country can deal with own war criminals to a good degree. Besides, a Serbian court sentencing Serbs for crimes against Albanians has more respect than Kangaroo-court doing the same.

You can observe it - "Kangaroo" gives 10 years to a Serb = no one is happy. Serbs say: "Kangaroo". Albanians say: "not enough".

Court in Belgrade does the same - not much is complained.

As for organ harvesting: in theory, what is EULEX for? If they find the guilty and give 25 years, than OK. If they are corrupt, easy to bribe by certain Albanian politicians, lazy and afraid to touch the mafia (as I believe) - than they should disappear, but it's now EU's problem.

ICTY discredited itself on every front, now it's just time to go home. End of easy money, six digit salaries and parties. @ICTY: Hide your 'shrooms well - and board the airplanes ;)

Thank you Russia for not being bought out like most countries that recognized the fake independence and clearly broke international laws.

This people would close ICTY even without Mladic's arrest and leave all his crimes in Srebrenica and elsewhere unpunished.

And they still dear to speak about morality.

These people make me sick.
