bganon, what do you think my opinion of nazis and fascists would be? I've mentioned them in recent posts so it should be fairly obvious don't you think? It was the Serbians who fought against and defeated them in WWII at a great loss of innocent lives.

I'm just glad B92 didn't somehow link them to the SRS and DSS this time around, which seems to be the norm here.

ZK so do you. Would you really like me to go back and find your comment when you agreed with me that the police have been ineffective in controlling rioters? What do you suggest, that the police use harsh language to stop those breaking the law?

I presume by others being injured you are also referring to Serbians in the police force doing their jobs right?

And I also presume that you do not support this neo-nazi protest? I only ask because it you didn't actually mention the topic title.

bganon, seems you have selective memory. Tell me how an SRS supporter managed to get killed by police in the last protest while others were injured?

Duro - leave it to the police? Are you serious? They just stand there doing nothing, frankly its amazing that during student protests of the 90's people were regularly beaten to a pulp, but this lot are told not to intervene.

But on the German point I agree to some extent and would add that in Germany there is a history of anti-fascist groups taking on the fascists, rather than leaving it to the police.

Perhaps if the police are unable to do their jobs properly its time to do that in Serbia as well.

Banning any protest is undemocratic. I may not agree with what they have to say but I will defend their right to say it.

If a certain group is so out of sync with the general population, they will not have enough showing up for a protest in the first place, thus making it easy for the police to take control. Smashing up Belgrade of any other city would be out of the question.

If we only allow protests which are in line with what the government of the day agrees with, how is that any different to communism then?

I personally find any extremist group on the nose but if I am to be allowed freedom of expression then they must be allowed as well. They will only discredit themselves anyway.

Ban the far right (fascists) and left (communists) I say. Both are equally repulsive beliefs. Impose the German law of banning even the display of images representing these beliefs. No swastikas, no hammer and sickles.

bganon best leave it to the police. No need to provoke and even greater response from brainless gatherings. Better yet, no rallies, stop holding up the bloody traffic!

Yes, ZERO tolerance of nazis and fascists. Its time to clampdown on these goons and their brainless supporters.

And if not, its time to attend an anti-fascist protest. I don't think they will have such an easy time of smashing up Belgrade in such a case.
