I am not a fan of Mr. Kostunica but, he is absolutely 100% correct in his evaluations. The EU is now caught with their pants down, trying to protect the US's policy in the Balkans, which they so obediently followed. And with their pants down, their is little to protect.

There is something much more intricate going on here between Russia and the USA which has very little to do with the interests of the Kosova people and the Serbian people. This is just a huge geopolitical game between the two, Russia is trying to stop democracy growing eastward whilst the USA keeps encouraging Georgia to destabalise Russia and setting up camp bondsteel in kosova.
However in terms of comparisons between Kosovo and the two breakaway regions, Kosovo was oppressed by the ottomans and serbian people for nearly a century, the 1999 'war' being the tip of the iceberg of what serbia has done to kosovar people. So therefore kosovo will never return into serbian rule, including the fact that they lost kosovo when UNMIK took control.
