It should be up to individual employers whether or not a degree from a particular institution is valid or not. The state should have no say in it (unless the state itself is the employer, if that's the case here then disregard this comment).

Since this is done simply for political reasons and with a good dose of discrimination then the Albanians in Southern Serbia should organize and demand from the state that they finance and open a University that the state accepts but in the Albanian language. In the meantime they should fight for jobs and not just move away because ethnic cleansing in whatever form does not solve anything.

Incredible the shocked reaction. Of course Serbia would reject diplomas from Kosovo. They don't recognise it as a state and it's within their own legally recognised borders.

Rain's right, this is just one of many problems which will arise and why it is very shortsighted of any nation to accept an illegal UDI outside of the UN.

The only way forward is talk and negotiation ASAP and this will include discussions about status/ ideas for possible partition etc. That is obvious.

Just out of interest, would diplomas add insult to injury by using the name 'Kosova'? Does anyone really think that anything like this would be accepted by Serbia?

This is an example of what would have happened to Albanians in Kosovo had they stayed under serbia. Basic educational ri ghts denied, TV stations in Albanian closed, like the one in Presevo just recently that b92 fails to report on.

These policies will take you nowhere but backwards.

very good and efficient move by the minister.
The real effects of illegal UDI are yet to come in the portions like this one is.
There is no reason for speculations. It will be a date from the past set to mark from when Pristina's diplomas wont be recognized in Serbia. And that day is likely to be 17 Feb 2007.
Well if you are up to steal land, establish an illegal and fake educational system and institutions you cant expect to be recognized. Clear cut.
No point throwing an kuku egg by screaming:"etnical cleansing in Presevo valley", as this legislation wont affect those citizens with diplomas obtained before illegal UDI.

Mr.Halimi´s job should be to prevent destabilization, I guess, not to talk about threats and certainly not to care about school degrees...
