Spain to maintain KFOR contingent

Spain’s decision not to recognize Kosovo will not stop it from participating in KFOR, NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said in Madrid yesterday.

It is more appropriate for Spain to be involved if they accept Serbia's status under 1244 than it is for the US, UK, etc., who have an obvious conflict of interest and cannot be said to be behaving appropriately in Kosovo.

Welcome the Spanish as peace-keepers and as acknowledgers of Serbia's ownership of the territory that happens to have been ethnically cleansed by a few Albanians.

Remember that the term 'ethnic cleansing' was first used to describe the actions of the Albanian Communist Party in Kosovo.

Remember too that the monoethnic ambition of the Albanians has been longterm and persistent and has just been rewarded by the US etc..

The fact that there are Spanish soldiers in Kosovo is definitely a plus considering the fact that the potential exists for Julio Iglesias to come to Kosovo and perform for everybody there.I would rather see Spain send Julio to sing than Spain's recognition of the Albanian UDI which my fellow hombres is NEVER going to happen.

HI Vencor

I know its better for them to call it quits for political reasons but the Spaniards are known to be very professional in their duties towards the suffering Serb minority and its property. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
Imagine they leave and their replacements are those gutless German troops. They'd just hide in their APCs when there is a March 17 repeat.

Anthony,
Your ‘Reconquista’ suggestion would fit like a glove with the ideas of many in this forum. So would also the gouging of eye balls and introduction of medieval torture methods. Shame that that is out of bound now.

This is the first step towards recognition of independence from Spain. Just wait and see and within few months Spain and also Greece will recognize Kosovo's independence.

Whats wrong with these Spainards...?

Perhaps they would like some Intl. force with the participation of Serbia to maintain peace in Catalonia and Basque...?

Hypocrites, war mongers, the whole lot of them...!
