As officials of the EU, Rehn and Solana CANNOT even allude to Kosovo being an independent entity since the EU as a whole hasn't recognised. This goes to show how the EU operates... It follows the lead of Germany, France, UK and ignores the other members who may oppose these moves. And that's apparently Serbia's only alternative to self isolation. Reminds me of WW2 when we were surrounded by Pro-Nazi states who were dismembering our homeland the way the EU/Germany is now, Serbia's apparent only choice was Nedic...

Serbian voter : The EU and NATO needs a whipping boy to justifie their exsistance and before they turn on each other into in fighting. To pretend that they are some kind of morally superior duffases in their own short sited hypocritical minds. They would like nothing more than the radicals to win. Then they can go in to crises mode saving the world from the sky falling because Serbia is not going be a lackey of the so called western hypocrisies or give in to their nonsense.

Burim Kosova:
> Isn't it far more likely that the trend will be for ever more countries to recognise Kosovo, even if this only happens over time?

Well actually, trend is exactly the opposite - fewer & fewer countries are recognising UDI in Kosovo.

> Isn't Kosovo's independence an accomplished fact that Serbia (even with her ally Russia) is far too weak to do revoke?

UDI can only be 'accomplished' if the other party in question accepts situation. And serbs will never accept this. That is the only 'fact' that really matters.

> What are Jeremic, Kostunica, Tadic and the rest playing at? What fruits are they hoping to reap from their policies? Isn't Kosovo irrevocably lost? Isn't theirs just a hopeless cause?

While serb position in Kosovo currently may seem hopeless to you, is anything but.

Serbs will not change their stance, recognition of UDI is coming to a standstill, & western support will in time inevitably falter. Meanwhile status of entity in Kosovo remains unresolved & uncertain.

Is simply a question of time.

There is a lot of media speculation of Serbia becoming part of the EU, but as we all have seen - the EU needs Serbia more than we need the EU. It is clearly obvious due to this article.

Yet another monopoly festered by the US propoganda!

Making a deal/agreement with the EU is making a deal with the devil. Sure there are free borders, but is that everything - look at what chaos & protests thaci has orchestrated within the borders of KosovO....he will have his day......

So will the SERBS!!

Let's get the terminology clear.

Kosovo is a neighbour of Albania - but it is a province of Serbia.

This UDI is illegal and unacceptable.

To Gaz, about Haradinaj:

"Because he was innocent. "
We all know how innocent he is. That's why all of the witnesses are dead. The whole Kosovo so - called albanian government has hands covered in blood. You pretend in front of the international community that you respect the others...We all know that you can not be trusted.
The truth always comes out, remember...You can not breathe now, and do what you are used to do.
Your time is coming. Just wait.

Jeremic has been very successful in his round-the-world trip of convincing countries not to recognise Kosovo's independence, but it still cannot conceal the fact that most of the countries that matter (the US and most EU countries, including the most powerful) have all shown strong support for an independent Kosovo. Surely the Pristina government will never give in to Serbia with that kind of support, and surely the West is unlikely to renege on their backing. Isn't it far more likely that the trend will be for ever more countries to recognise Kosovo, even if this only happens over time? Isn't Kosovo's independence an accomplished fact that Serbia (even with her ally Russia) is far too weak to do revoke?

This is one more irresponsible statement from EU authorities, targeted on decreasing support to the pro-European parties, among Serbian voters on the incoming elections on May 11th. Why this is so necessary for EU to make one more experiment over Serbia? I really do not get what EU wins with victory of Radical Party in Serbia. I hope EU knows what is doing!

You people sound so angry and maybe you have legitimate grievances for being angry. You can’t be angry all the time though.
Mr Rehn was taking about peace and good relations not war and organ removals. For Christians that you are you need to show some Christian values for a change.

it´s amusing to see Mr.Rehn how he´s exercising what he has to do in regard to his position... although of course knowing that this won´t happen...

"neighbourly relations" to the own territory? :)

There were no standards achieved before this FALSE status, the minorities in the Serbian PROVINCE of KosovO are not respected, they live in the enclaves, surrounded by the barb wire, with no food, no power, no jobs, no freedom of movement of respected human rights, with the constant fear for their life. Minorities are threatened, Albanians are screaming at them in the nights, people sleep in their clothes in fear that they would have to leave any moment, to escape the death.
How much is the human life worth? Is Serbian life worth less? Why would the Hague release Haradinaj when they know that a lot of witnesses were murdered in order not to be witnesses, and suspend the claim that Carla Del Ponte (Hague prosecutor)wrote in her book, that hundreds of young Serbs were killed and their organs removed? There is something really wrong here.
A lot of drug and prostitution money lies in some pockets around the world.

Mr Rehn.....whatever next? Serbia to maintain good relations with Kosovo? We do, because it's our land! On a serious note he says that we should maintain good relations with Kosovo, perhaps he will pass similar comments to the US, who do not maintain good relations with Cuba, perhaps he should say those countries responsible for bombing Iraq for no reason. Perhaps he should say this to Israel while they are at war with all of their neighbours. Perhaps he should say this to all those countries that threaten Iran...

I bet you any amount of money that Mr. Rehn never used the term."and that the province has European prospects".
Maybe the editor of b92 would like to explain the source of that term. Thanks

Kostunica is 100% right. All those crooks from EU just pushing for signing SAA because it will turn green light for installation FULEX in Kosovo and implementation of Martti Ahtisaari's plan.

His plan was never accepted by UNSC so it is illegal.
