possible coalition between Kostunica & Nikolic...nice, I smell the "90s. It has been said that people choose the leaders, in other words, "like leader, like people" and Serbia has expressed this without a doubt who they chose in '90s, Milosevic. I guess it's a cycle that you have to put up with, good luck.

Ben:

Is interesting how the pro K-albanian camp consistently directs their comments against Kostunica. I guess you people must regard him as the biggest threat to K-albanian plans for Kosovo.

Good reason to vote for him.

I am sure that after Milosevic's ruling, now with Nikolic and Kostunica Serbia will have again a xenophobic Gov.t the only one in Europe.

Kostunica is a good strategist.
I am more and more prone to think that the present government has a subversive stream inside that was paralyzing the work of the government. Kostunica's idea is to rid government of those streams and perhaps he is very conscious of his center right position that in this moment can mediate a largest number of Serbian voters when joined with SRS. I think Mr Kostunica is clear that in the case of SRS victory, SRS won't have enough quality staff, and this may be another major role for him to help with personnel problem.

Well this isn't a good message for Nikolic to send to his own supporters. Vote for us and get Kostunica.

I wonder if this has been discussed with Seselj and if so whose idea it is.

Not sure what the fuss is about, as Kostunica and Nikolic will have to fight for leadership of the opposition. If not in this election then in the next one. As what ever Nikolic/Kostunica come up with Kosovo wont come under Serbian control. All that will happen is that the people of Serbia will be poorer than they already are.

I see no reason why Mr Kostunica wouldn’t be Serbia’s premier again. He was very good to me as a Premier and if there is possibility of making coalition with radicals then I think that radicals should give Mr Kostunica the position of Premier.

Ana,

"This is not the Kostunica that I voted for in 2000..."

It's exactly who you voted for. Unfortunately I am not allowed to write anything negative about K her, because B92 always censors it.

This is not the year 2000. Today the DS says it does not rule out coalition with Milosevic's socialists and the LDP. I understand that Nikolic and his tribe make you nervous, and I realize you will be voting for Tadic holding your nose. But please don't close your eyes to Kosovo when you hold your nose. Kosovo is as dear to me as it is to you, and I know you are tired but now is not the time for our citizens to start capitulating at the voting booth

For what it's worth, I think Kostunica should be Prime Minister after the election. He is very solid on the Kosovo issue, but he is not a firebrand who threatens hell and damnation on all who oppose him. He strikes me as very measured in his statements and rather pragmatic in his approach. Must be his legal background. He would also put manners on the more "colourful" members of the SRS.
