Does the electorate want a government that is submissive and accepts each and every new demand and condition or one that stands up for Serbian Sovereignity and stands for EU membership on an equal footing or not at all if the EU dod not choose to treat Serbia as a equal!

DS suggest that in the EU they can stand up for Serbia's sovereignity but that was repelled by Rupel only yesterday who openly suggested Serbia would have a new condition to stop it!

so called experienced politicians within G17 have pulled the plug on stability and progress for a unified Serbia TWICE in just over a year! Maybe that should give you a realisation that experience in govt does not necesarily equate to good practice either!

One does not necceassrily need to be a doctorate in economics to be the head of a party and to run a state! Or is that your perceived opinion that a political leader must hold a doctorate in all the fields that they govern/minister over?

I am sure there will be many who can and will fill the economic vacuum left by Dinkic et al who say one thing but act differently from the economic interest of the WHOLE of the State!

Unquestioning acceptance and submissiveness in all demands and conditions set by the EU are hardly likely to be in the best interets of ALL of Serbia as a WHOLE.

Generally the EU acts in the interest of the large multinationals that are already in the EU rather then promoting the domestic scene of a potential member - ask the entrants in the 2004 wave or the 2007 2 how things have faired in the reality of ever widing inequalities of economic development!

Maybe your right it is time Nikolic brushed up on the economic element - if they did their homework they would remove the only reason for being for parties such as G17! Maybe this is what your getting at?

bganon, don't bring your fancy, educated insights into this. Clearly the first policy of the SRS would be to ban inflation. That would fix the price problem up for a start. Their second policy would be to print more money, that way they could pay all the public servants more and make everyone happy, and since inflation would be illegal, everyone could buy more things as well with all their extra money. This is so obvious. It doesn't even take a five-star expert - but luckily the SRS have one of them too!

Actually, now that I think of this, another SRS policy would surely be to stop that nasty investigation into the credibility of Serbian law degrees...

That is the key difference in this election. You have all the parliamentary parties with the exception of LDP that support Kosovo remaining in Serbia. And you only have a couple of parties that have any kind of economic programme and individuals in those parties that have experience in these matters.

Nikolic was asked on state tv 2 days ago what his economic policies were. The only answer he could give was 'to export apples to Russia'. The presenter asked him once more and he failed to answer the question.

Does this guy know the slightest thing about how the international economy operates?

There is absolutely no logic to this whole notion that Serbia should be in equal footing with the E.U. Excuse me, but Serbia wants to join the EU and not the other way around! When you want to join ANY club you have to abide by their rules, period. Serbia will have to abide by any and all rules set by the E.U. And if the E.U wants to add and change the rules, Serbia will have to abide by those as well. The E.U countries have no obligations whatsoever towards Serbia. This kind of arrogant attitude will get not Serbia in the E.U, NATO or anywhere else. For God’s sake, get some leaders who have more then just some weight on top of their shoulders!

i was thinking that Kostunica if he wins the election would have turn his head to Moscow and negoziate with the Russian and also him want Serbia in EU !!

What is the inflation target of SRS? What is their target for unemployment? Do they think that central bank should not intervene and let the dinar fall in value?
