Pyrros you stumble upon a pertinent point.

My cousin married on this program but he would not have married so soon given free choice. In other words some couples marry mainly because somebody else (RTS) is paying for the wedding.

Perhpas if it were not for this programme the couple in question would not have married. Maybe this is the main responsibility that RTS have.

To a degree its true that this programme shows Serbian rural attitudes (they dont really do town marriages) and there is some merit in seeing this - not pretending they dont exist.

On the other hand I think that when somebody advocates the breaking of laws on television the presenter must be obliged to challenge these statements and the editor of the programme has to cut where necessary.

In the end its a balance between avoiding pretending this doesnt happen and making sure that people understand this kind of behaviour is not acceptible.

Its not about politics, or the abuse against women.

Its just that this couple of the RTS show "zvadba 24", is destined to divorce.

The woman also said she slapped the man. And the man had beaten many times the woman.
No matter who beats who, this couple should be advised not to marry each other.

People beat each other cause they cannot stand each other, or because they have inherent attitude problems, not because of politics.

Any politician making such comments as these should be sacked or resign as a fossil of a bygone era.

I agree with 'smileforme' 100% (actually on most things). If the issue of domestic violence arises in a reality show it is hugely important that it is handled with the correct response.

It was only a few decades ago in areas of Western Europe that rape within marriage became illegal.

ALL domestic violence should be taken seriously and discussed properly. Cowards who beat women usually beat children as well.

Mr Tijanic sounds as though he has his own issues with women, which is his business unless he starts spouting off like this in public. Does anyone really want someone like that representing them?

Its not the first time RTS has promoted violence.
RTS which was a tool of Milosevic regime, has been promoting violence and crime from the 1990's.
Its a different story with other TV channels from Serbia, such B92, Pinktv etc etc...

"what i don´t like should be banned for everybody?"

what the SERBIAN LAW doesnt like must be banned for everybody. the serbian law says that beating women is a criminal offence and the serbian law HATES it. just like drug selling for instance. a reality show showing someone selling or shooting heroin would also be unacceptable even if some may LIKE it.

is that called the "b92-system"??? what i don´t like should be banned for everybody?

to put it right, ldp and company want tijanic away because of his political choice (a very private thing) and put in an unpolitical professional with ds/ldp party book.

but the real reason (of course) is, a reality-production is showing - you won´t believe it - reality.

reality most people don´t like, but reality that happens.

will our self-proclaimed democrats ban the other stuff they don´t like (guca, orthodoxy, serbian flag, ...) too?
