They were initially forced to do so when Russia crossed the border into Ukraine but Zelensky told them where to go.
Ukraine will never recognise Kosovo because they will be broken up even more, not by Russia but by Poland and others seeking their pre WW1 borders.

Sasha the Russians have lost about 33,000 so far in this war and this comes from UK sources. Ukraine lost in this offence alone 90,000 killed and badly wounded.
Why aren't Russians advancing? Why would they when the enemy is coming to them. Russia has depleted the EU of its arms and draining the US to the point that the Pentagon is very concerned about us ability to conduct any threats to themselves.
