Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic has said that there is no solution to the Kosovo issue without Serbia. He also voiced expectation that a compromise will be reached on the resolution on Kosovo Serbia has presented to the UN General Assembly. PM: No Kosovo solution without Serbia "As far as Kosovo and Metohija is concerned, no solution can be found without Serbia. This is clear to our interlocutors both in the EU and the entire international community. This solution has to be a just one and acceptable to all, and above all in the interest of the future and a stable and lasting peace in the region," Cvetkovic told Belgrade's Press tabloid in an interview. According to him, Serbia's goal is serious and open talks and a partnership relation with all countries that are interested in the stabilization of the situation. "These talks mean that the Serbian government will not yield to blackmails, that it will not recognize Kosovo's independence and that it will not make any move that would be contrary to the national interests and the interests of the people that live in the region of Kosovo and Metohija." "We are aware that the problems in Kosovo and Metohija have been piling up for decades and that they have to be resolved in a serious, wise and patient manner, by using peaceful and diplomatic means," Cvetkovic said.
