Velimir Ilic will submit his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections to the Electoral Commission today. At a meeting of New Serbia’s executive today, it was unanimously decided that the party leader and Infrastructure Minister would run for president next month, a party statement announced. Ilic decides to run for president Ilic's party is allied with Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), which, along with President Boris Tadic's Democrats (DS) and G17 Plus, form the ruling coalition. The Electoral Commission (RIK) has thus far confirmed the nominations of Tomislav Nikolic, Boris Tadic, Istvan Pastor, Cedomir Jovanovic, Milutin Mrkonjic, Milanka Karic and Jugoslav Dobricanin. Ilić decides to run for president

Ilić's party is allied with Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica's Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), which, along with President Boris Tadić's Democrats (DS) and G17 Plus, form the ruling coalition.
