Migrants relocated from central parts of Belgrade

The last group of migrants, about 400 people, has been relocated from the area around Belgrade's main bus station and nearby tents and sheds.

These will now be demolished in order to make way for the construction of the Belgrade Waterfront buildings.

Representatives of the Serbian Commissariat for Refugees said they think the migrants, who have been taken to reception centers, "will not try to come back."

"We got them on buses, organized the transportation, and everyone has been taken to reception and asylum centers," the Commissariat's Ivan Miskovic said.

The migrants were informed about their upcoming transfer several days in advance. The Commissariat held meetings with their representatives and those from NGOs helping them, to ensure that "everything goes without problems."
