He added that his government "invested a lot of time and energy in preserving its political and economic stability and that it would be good to show the European perspective to those who deserve it as soon as possible."

Vucic conferred with Chairman of Bundestag Committee for European Affairs Gunther Krichbaum, as well as Bundestag MPs from the CDU/CSU lines and members of the group for the Western Balkans.

They discussed Serbia's European path and Germany's support in the European integration process.

The Serbian prime minister informed members of the Bundestag about Serbia's economic reforms and achievements in the process of European integration, the Serbian government Office for cooperation with the media released.

Vucic said later on Tuesday that he had "good and important meetings with German officials in Berlin on Tuesday, and several informal meetings," adding that the key issue discussed in them was the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and what could be achieved in relation to it in the coming period.

After the meeting Krichbaum and MPs from the CDU/CSU, Vucic "voiced confidence that Serbia is on the right track, and that this good track in ensuring good economic results and maintaining political stability will have the backing from Germany and the entire EU."

The insistence of Germany that Serbia is given tougher tasks, when compared to other countries, is not anything insulting, but rather good, because, as he put it, “we are not afraid of hard work that yields serious results at the start of the EU integration process,” Vucic said.

The prime minister said that Serbian citizens can expect the opening of the first chapters in EU entry talks, but also even greater respect for Serbia for maintaining political and economic stability in the country and the region.

“I think that we are close to final solutions, close to being able to say that white smoke appeared,” Vucic said, adding that Serbia has yet to try to do several more things in the coming period.
