Tadić won't run for DS leader, reports say

BELGRADE Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic and his deputy Dragan Djilas have reached an agreement, media have reported. According to the agreement, Djilas will be a candidate for a DS leader and Tadic will withdraw from the race. Tadic won't run for DS leader, reports say According to daily Blic, Djilas will accept Tadic’s conditions at a DS Main Board meeting on November 4. The daily writes that they reached an agreement in principle and that an official version is expected on Friday or Saturday. “It will be said that Tadic’s conditions have been accepted. He (Tadic) will probably point out in a speech that he is a moral winner and that he has shown that the party comes first. Do not expect anything spectacular,” a source close to Djilas told Blic. Daily Kurir also writes that Tadic and Djilas have reached an agreement and that Tadic will probably accept a position of a honorary party president. “Changes to the Statute have been harmonized, according to which honorary president, deputy leaders, presidents of Executive Board and Political Council and party secretary will be members of a Presidency and Tadic has requested that they get some jurisdiction of the party leader.
