BELGRADE -- Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Čedomir Jovanović says the entire government is responsible for the increased permitted level of aflatoxin in milk.

He added that Agriculture Minister Goran Knežević was not the only one to blame.
Jovanović claims that the government’s decision has humiliated citizens.
“The government has unbelievably humiliated the citizens. After the change of the regulations, the permitted level of aflatoxin in milk for people is ten times higher than in cattle feed, since the limit for milk is now 0.5 micrograms and it is still 0.05 micrograms per kilogram for cattle feed,” he said in a written statement.
The LDP leader said that the government had sent a message to citizens that “people are less important than animals”.
“Instead of a parliamentary session we requested and serious talks, analyses, we got cynicism and washing hands of political responsibility that all parties in the government need to assume,” Jovanović stressed.
He added that the “milk chaos” was not a surprise bearing in mind that “chaos and irresponsibility are the main features of the characterless policy the government has been leading for months”.
