Two separate bomb blasts in the Ugandan capital of Kampala have killed at least 64 people. An American is reported to be among the dead. Bomb blasts kill dozens in Uganda The explosions tore through two bars packed with football fans as they watched the World Cup final. The Ethiopian Village restaurant was one target while the other was Kampala’s rugby club. Dozens are said to be injured. Uganda is east Africa’s third largest economy and is attracting much foreign investment in its oil sector after two decades of relative stability. So far no group has claimed responsibility although al Qaeda inspired militants in Somalia are suspected. They have threatened to attack Uganda in the past for sending peacekeeping troops to their country to help support up the Western-backed government.
