Former camp prisoners seek reparation

"The Association of BH Camp Prisoners", the “Women-Victims of War” and “Movement of Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves” initiated the law suit.

The Association of BH Camp Prisoners president Murat Tahirović said at a joint press conference in Sarajevo on Friday that the number of lawsuits would likely reach 100,000.

Josip Sladić’s law office has been hired to represent former prisoners in cases tried before Bosnia and Croatia’s courts.

He said that the victims of war, especially those who had been illegally detained, were entitled to appropriate damage compensation.

He estimates that people imprisoned in concentration camps could get up to 350 euros for each day spent in the camp. Sladić is convinced such law suits can be won.
