It took less than 24 hours for the commemoration plaque for Serb refugees from Croatia in Knin to be removed. The Croatian Initiative of Young People for Human Rights stated that the plaque dedicated to Serb refugees forced out of Croatia during operation Storm has already been removed, less than a day after its activists put it up. Plaque to Serb refugees removed The coordinator of the non-governmental organization Mario Mazic told the Betanews agency that Knin Mayor Josip Rimac called on communal services to remove the plaque since it was put up without a license. “It is true that we had no license for the plaque, but we expected that it would stay there as a recognition of the Storm refugees,” Mazic said. He said that the NGO asked the city administration to approve the plaque's presence. The plaque was placed by activists of the NGO on the road exiting the northern part of Knin, which is the road taken 15 years ago be the convoys of Serbs who were forced to leave the region during operation Storm.
