Nearly one hundred Albanian nationals are hiding in the UK, 80 of them convicted killers, Albanian Police Director Ahmet Prenci says. Prenci told the Daily Telegraph that he regrets the fact that the British courts have hampered extraditions of Albanian citizens, requested by Tirana. There are 100 criminals, and more than 80 percent are wanted for murder and have been convicted in absentia," he was quoted as saying said. Most of them have "allegedly exploited the asylum system to gain UK citizenship after being smuggled into the country by traffickers", the newspaper said.
