The weapons Serbia wants to buy include air defense missile systems BUK, Krasnopol laser-guided projectiles, as well as helicopters and radars.

The paper added that Vucic will, in his conversation with Putin, "reiterate that Serbia wants to have the best relations with Russia."

According to the article, the weapons in question are of "a defensive, rather than offensive nature, and will serve to defend the country."

When he announced the intention to buy Russian weapons on Wednesday, Vucic said his country "must buy a part of its armaments - but will strive to manufacture some of it in Serbia, in cooperation with Russia."
