"MUP ready to start negotiations on Chapter 24"

Stefanovic met with Franco Frattini, former Italian foreign minister and advisor on the EU integration process to the Serbian government, "to discuss Srbia's accession process and in particular on Chapter 24 (Justice, Freedom and Security)," the MUP said.

According to Frattini, "commitment to the European integration process and implementation of the acquis, irrespective of any political decision to formally start negotiations, is the real way and argument to speed up the adoption by the European Commission and EU member states of the decision to start negotiations within the framework of the Negotiating Group for Chapter 24."
