BELGRADE Suzana Grubjesic will be on an official visit to France from Monday until Thursday, February 14, it has been announced. Serbia's deputy prime minister in charge of EU integration will have a series of meetings with key French officials in an effort to secure the country's support in landing a date for accession talks with the EU. Deputy PM for EU integrations travels to France This is the first visit by a Serbian official to France since the formation of the current government, Grubjesic's office said in a release. While in Paris, Grubjesic will meet with European Affairs Minister Bernard Cazeneuve and Paul Jean-Ortiz, advisor to President Francois Hollande. She will also address members of the French parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee and inform them about the Serbian government's activities related to European integration. Grubjesic will inform her interlocutors that Serbia wants to be part of the family of European nations and that all its efforts are directed at obtaining a date for the start of EU accession talks by June. She will also point out that postponing the date would be discouraging to Serbia, to say the least. The current government has demonstrated its true commitment to European integration and rightly expects that European partners to recognize that, not only in words but in deeds as well, the statement reads.
