EULEX still has not informed lawyers of five arrested Serbs from Gnjilane whether their custody will be extended or not. One of the arrested men’s lawyer Miodrag Brkljac has stated that he had sent an official response to the prosecutor’s request to extend their custody. EULEX may extend custody to Serbs “The chamber has received it and had an obligation to decide on the further fate of the arrested men whose custody expires today,” he explained. “We expected EULEX to decide on the extension of their custody on Friday, maybe we will get more information later today. But if they do not make a decision to extend their custody today and submit it to the detention units where the suspects are placed, they must not hold them a minute longer,” Brkljac stressed. Kosovo police special units (ROSU) arrested on February 25 Zlatko Denic, Goran Matropazarevic, Nikola Trajkovic and Dragan Stojkovic who used to work on issuing passports and drivers licenses in the Gnjilane Police Administration which was relocated to the southern Serbian city of Vranje in 1999. They are accused of attacking Kosovo’s legal order and were remanded in custody for 30 days. Beta
